How To Backup Your Browser Bookmarks

I surfed a lot of websites and blogs everyday and if I find that sites are useful, I will bookmark them for future references. My other reason for bookmarking is to easily browse them so I don't have to remember the long URL.Just click the bookmark link and it will lead to the targeted sites. My bookmarks consist of several categories like MP3's, Anime & Manga, Downloads, Notes & Tutorial, Articles, Blogging and etc.

Have you ever thinking if your system has a problem and need to be formatted, you will lost your favorites/bookmark links? Before your systems or browser going crazy, it is better for you to backup your browser bookmarks. The process of backing up the bookmark is really easy.

INTERNET EXPLORER
1. Open the "My Computer" window by either double-clicking the shortcut icon or clicking on "Start"
then choose "My Computer."
2. Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\ and find the "Favorites" folder.
Note: if you cannot see the Application Data folder click on Tools - Folder Options - Show Hidden
Files & Folders.
3. Copy the "Favorites" folder to your back up location (i.e. F:\backup).

FIREFOX
1. Inside the browser go to Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks
2. From the File menu, choose Export
3. Select the location where you want to save the bookmarks.html file. You just have to remember the location where you save the file, and copy it to a backup storage device when you are finished.
4. Click Save

How Hackers Hijack Your iPhone

Just like computer, hackers can also hack or hijack your iPhone system. As we know, vulnerabilities in Safari browser is among the first serious holes that could be exploited. I'm sure, as the popularity of iPhone arise the hackers will find more holes so they can exploit them in the future.

To iPhone users, you better watch your iPhone and do not install any malicious software or open any untrusted link sent to you.

Lately, a lot of my friends' computer has been infected by JambanMu.Com virus. What can I say is this virus is quit annoying because it messing up with your registry. Your computer may become slow because this virus will load your registry with unnecessary entry that they created.

Tips Of The Day - How To Convert FAT to NTFS?

Basically, we are going to use one of the built-in function in Windows to convert FAT files to NTFS file system. Do not need any special software in order to do that. This built-in function is called "Convert.exe" . But, be careful after converting is done, you cannot reverse it back.

For a precaution step, you might want to backup the data first. Here's the step :-

1) Go to Start Menu > Run and type "cmd" to open command prompt.
2) In the command prompt, type in CONVERT [drive letter]: /fs:ntfs
For example, CONVERT D: /fs:ntfs
( It will convert fat16 or fat32 to NTFS files )
3) Done !

p/s : NTFS is the recommended file system because it's more powerful than FAT because the improved of security feature, ability to encrypt and decrypt file data and better hard disk space usage efficiency than FAT.

Tips Of The Day - Flash.10.Setup.exe Trojan Info

Lately, there's new trojan horse attacking computer system and pendrive, called "Flash.10.Setup.exe".

Some of my friend's computer has been infected by this annoying trojan horse.

Trojan Info :-
-Also known as Trojan.Win32.VB.ayo / TR/VB.ayo.1
-It can change the settings of your computer system

How To Get Rid Of This Trojan ?
- As far as I know, If you have latest virus definition updates of anti-virus like AntiVir or Kapersky, then you'll be able to detect and delete the trojan.
-Sometimes, it resides in C:/windows/system32 .When you open the directory, your anti-virus will be able to detect it.
-If you're not sure whether the trojan is definitely gone, use HijackThis to verify all the related files are gone. IF you found something like REG:Win.ini: load=Flash.10.exe, "check" the button next to the file and click "Fix it".
-Your computer should be fine..

Advice For Pendrive User:-
-Before opening the pendrive, it is recommended to scan it first.
-This Flash.10.Setup.exe usually will automatically run if you just browse the pendrive without scanning it first.
-IF your anti-virus is able to detect it, after deleting the trojan then you have to manually delete the Autorun.inf file ( this file is hidden, so you do not know how to show the file, read my previous article on how to view hidden files )

Fast Search MP3 With Google

May be some of you already know this. But some of you still do not know or just don't remember the right step to use Google to find your favorite Mp3's.

This step is definitely the fastest way for me to find any Mp3 on the Net using Google. Lately, I've been listening quite a lot songs. When I turned on the radio, I'm always listening to Hitz.fm top 20 songs.
The songs are just great.

So, I need to get the song to my notebook as soon as possible so that I can hear it over and over again.

This is what I did:-

1) Go to Google, enter the following command in the Search Box :-

?intitle:index.of? mp3 [artist] [song's title]

replace [artist] with artist name
replace [song's title] with song's name

p/s : If you do not know the song's name, just enter artist name would be fine. Same goes to song's name.

Here's the example, Mp3's that I've searching for :-

Tips Of The Day - How To Search Hidden Files In Xp?

The Search function in Windows Xp by default do not search for hidden files or folders. And because of this, you may not be able to find the files even though the files exist in your system.

So, how can you tell the Search function to look for hidden files or folders ? Here's the tips.

Actually, Search function has additional function( advance option ), that you can use to find the hidden files.

1) Go to StartMenu > Search

2) Click All files and folders, then click More advanced option.

3) Select Search hidden files and folders check boxes.

Done !.

P/s : And if you would like to manually search the hidden files or folders in your system, you need to go to Folder Option and check "Show Hidden Files" option.

Basically this add-on will modify your Firefox download manager to be able to change its appearance and allows it to be opened in separate windows, new tab or the sidebar.

If you do not have this add-on, your download manager will only open in separate windows when you're downloading something from the Net.

Have you try Opera download manager ? Well, it will open in new tab everytime you download something from the Net.

You can have similar function in your Firefox download manager with this add-on, plus you can even put this download manager at the sidebar.
